A studio that stays past launch

Woodpecker Solutions has been building software for growing companies since 2017. We are deliberately small, deliberately senior, and deliberately picky about the work we take.

Our story

Named after a bird that keeps going until it gets through

We started in 2017 with three engineers and one conviction: most software projects do not fail because the technology was too hard. They fail because nobody was willing to say "that feature is not worth what it will cost you", and because the team that built it disappeared the week after launch.

Nine years on, that is still the whole proposition. We scope honestly, we build in the open, and we are still answering the phone for products we shipped six years ago.

Today we are a team of eighteen across engineering, design and delivery, working from Navi Mumbai with clients in India, the UK and Singapore.

What we believe

Four things we will not compromise on

Scope is the deliverable

Deciding what not to build is the highest-leverage work on any project. We do it first and we keep doing it.

Readable beats clever

Code is read far more than it is written. If a new hire cannot follow it in a month, it was not good engineering.

No lock-in, ever

Your repositories, your cloud accounts, your IP from the first commit. You should be able to leave us without a migration project.

Launch is the midpoint

A product that ships and then rots has not succeeded. We plan for the two years after go-live, not the week before it.

How we work

Four stages, and what you get from each

Every engagement follows this shape. The durations flex; the sequence does not.

01

Discover

A week of hard questions. We map the users, the constraints and the commercial goal, then write down what success looks like in numbers.

02

Design

Architecture and interface together. You approve a clickable prototype and a technical plan before we commit engineering time.

03

Build

Two-week sprints against a visible board. Working software in a staging environment at the end of every one — no six-week silences.

04

Scale

Launch, then look after it. Monitoring, iteration on real usage data, and capacity work before you need it rather than after.

Come and see whether we fit

A first call costs you thirty minutes and no money. If we are the wrong studio for your problem, we will say so and point you at someone better placed.
